Sydney Anti-Discrimination Campaigner and public interest litigant Garry Burns initiated the legal action against Ms.Corbett under the anti-discrimination act 1977 ( NSW ) alleging she’d breached the anti-vilification provisions.
On the 15 October 2013 Ms.Corbett was ordered by the former NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal ( ADT ) to publish a public apology and apologise to Mr.Burns in writing.
Ms.Corbett appealed the decision on the 30 April 2014 and the appeal was dismissed on the 14 August 2014.
Mr. Burns said , “ I have no other alternative after speaking to Ms.Corbett’s legal representative Mr. Marcel White that the defendant has no intentions of complying with the orders of the court. I will now file a Certificate under Section 114 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 in the Supreme Court of NSW for the purposes of enforcing the non -monetary orders against the defendant”.
When asked is she considered homosexuals to be in the same category as paedophiles , Ms.Corbett replied “yes”.
“ It seems to me that all along the defendant ( Ms.Corbett ) had only contempt for the whole process and actually believed she had the right to publicise her pernicious view that Australian homosexual men and women are criminals by likening them to that of a criminal. Paedophiles are criminals and homosexuals are not. And because of that twisted held view Ms.Corbett now refuses to comply with the orders of the court and make a public apology ,” Burns concluded.
