15 October 2014
Singer Rob Mills published an indecent photo on social media on Saturday the 27 September 2014.
The picture , published on Instagram by Mills after the AFL grand final , shows a Hawthorn Hawks figurine sodomising a Sydney Swans figurine.
Mills , who rose to fame on Australian Idol and plays Danny Zuko in a touring production of Grease , added the hashtags #hilarious and #criticssaidwhaaaaaat.
On the 1 October 2014 Anti-Discrimination Campaigner Garry Burns lodged a complaint with the President of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board ( ADB ) alleging the two male figurine’s imaging male persons having sodomy sex via a “public act “ vilified him on the ground of his homosexuality.
On the 15 October 2014 Mr.Burns complaint was accepted for investigation:
“ I am writing to let you know that the Delegate of the President has decided to accept your complaint of homosexual vilification against Mr.Rob Mills for investigation”.
Mr.Burns said , ‘ The figurine of two males sodomising each other is unlawful homosexuality vilification under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 because the image suggest’s the life or the legitimacy of life as a homosexual male is indeed something to be publicly ridiculed or mocked”.
Mr.Mills is a friend of the youth Charity Reach and is managed by IMG Talent Management.
“ THE REACH CHARITY COULD BE ASSISTING GAY YOUTH SUICIDE BY ASSOCIATING ITSELF WITH ROB MILLS BECAUSE THE PUBLIC RIDICULING OF HOMOSEXUALS DOES CAUSE GAY YOUTH TO SUICIDE ”, Burns concluded.
